Shopping
for Loans: Online Lenders and Brokers
Home Mortgage Refinancing: An Overview
of Online Services

when you are choosing a lender is the online company.
If you have decided in advance to go with an online
broker or lender, you often must decide without the
benefit of a face to face meeting with your representative.
Although this can make it a bit more complicated, you
can still make a good decision based on some rules of
thumb.

Professionalism is Key
First, if the website has a look about
it that is unprofessional and fly-by-night, it probably
is. A professional lender or broker will have the money
to spend on a good website that looks attractive and
not thrown together by a group effort of customer service
reps and all three primary colors.

Pay Attention to Ads at a Site
When you log onto the site, check first
for an abundance of ads for other businesses. Although
some may have Google Adsense links, lenders shouldn’t
have to sell advertising on their websites to get by.
Reconsider websites with these ads, and shut down websites
that shove banner ads and popups in your face—especially
if you can’t close them! |
